NM: Santa Fe Century bike ride

May 17, 2009

I started out to ride 50 miles of the Santa Fe century bike ride at 7:30am. Pre ride picture.

The first big turn onto the highway. Riding next to cars driving 75 mph!

Sangre Cristo Mountains in the background.

Oh just a little 2 mile hill going about 5.0 mph. There were inspirational quotes along the way and many people that were walking. Not me though!

Me at the top of that big hill.

50 miles was a good start considering I was at 7500 feet of elevation.

NM: Bandalier National Monument

May 10, 2009

Marty, John and I went to Bandalier National Monument about an hour outside of Santa Fe. There are a lot of cave dwelling where the Native Americans lived. This is me taking a break 2. 5 miles down the trail.

Cave dwelling.
This is a picture of ancient ruins from high above on the mountain.

Me climbing down from the ladders to a 150 foot tall cave.

Looking down the canyon on the way out with the Rio Grande River below.

John and me taking a break on the trail.

We hiked about two hours in the morning then ate lunch then 5 miles down into the canyon. We stopped on the way down because there were dead cow carcasses that were decaying since September 08. It was the worst smell I ever experienced!

NM: Full Moon Midnite Bike Ride in Santa Fe

May 9, 2009

I decided to partake in a full moon bike ride on a bike trail in Santa Fe. The problem was.... nobody else showed up. So I went for a little 2 mile jaunt on my mountain bike by myself. Here are a few pictures.

The full moon did truly light up the sky.
